On November 23, 2016 at about 11:15 p.m. Rockford Police patrol officers were dispatched to the 1100 block of Van Wie Avenue in response to an attempted Armed Robbery to a citizen that just occurred. Upon arrival patrol officers met with the victim who provided a details of the robbery attempt and a description of the suspect.
Detectives from the Rockford Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit have been actively investigating the incident. The results of the investigation were reviewed by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office. As a result, charges were authorized and a warrant was issued for the following suspect:
WANTED: Deeric King 33 years old Rockford, IL
CHARGE: Attempt Armed Robbery

The charges against King are merely accusations and not evidence of his guilt. As with defendants in all criminal cases, King is considered innocent unless proven guilt in court.
