On Monday, December 12, 2016 around 7:50pm Officers of the Rockford Police Department responded to a local hospital in reference to a shooting victim. Upon arrival Officers met with the victim, a 21 year old black male. The victim stated he was walking in the 2300 block of Forest View when he was approached by two black males. The victim stated both of the males were armed. He stated both male began to shoot at him. The victim stated he ran through a yard to get away but was struck once. He continued to run until he got onto Harrison Ave where he was able to flag down a person who transported him to the hospital.
The victim suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his shoulder. He could not provide a motive for being shot. The area was checked for suspects with negative results.
Suspect #1: Black male, younger. Brown coat with black hoodie underneath
Suspect #2: Black male, younger, dark colored clothing
