On December 28, 2016 members of the Rockford Police Department responded to the area of 11th Ave. and 8th St. for a witness reporting an Armed Robbery in progress. The witness said there were several people with guns trying to rob someone.
Officers arrived and spoke to a witness who pointed out a house in the 1100 block of 11th Ave. and said some of the subjects went into the house after the incident.
Officers located two victims at that residence who spoke to the officers. The victims, 2 black males around 20 years old, said they were standing outside their house when a white unknown make/model 4 door car pulled up. They said 3 or 4 subjects exited the car, all with guns, and tried to rob them.
The suspects fled the area in the car after finding the victims had nothing on them. No one was injured during this incident.
The victims described the suspects as #1 White Male, 18-19 years old, 5’9″ and 125 pounds, #2 Black Male, 5’10” and skinny build, #3 Black Male, 5’10” and skinny build and #4 Black Male, 5’10” and skinny build.
