At 4:49p.m. on December 16, 2016 Rockford Police were dispatched to the Members Alliance Credit Union at 6951 Old Creek Road reference a robbery to the business where the suspect discharged a firearm inside during the incident. The suspect was described as a white male, 40 years old wearing Tan Carhart type jacket and carrying a shovel. Suspect fled on foot after the robbery. Shortly after the call was dispatched Winnebago County Sheriff’s Police and Rockford Police were involved in a vehicle pursuit of a Gold Chevrolet Tahoe Illinois License R663295 that may have been occupied by the robbery suspect. The vehicle was last seen in the area of Spring Creek and Starkweather where it was able to elude pursuing officers.
Details are minimal, but several Rockford Scanner fans are reporting the Members Alliance Credit Union on Old Creek rd in Rockford, has been robbed.
Suspect fled in an older blue tahoe. Reports of possible shots fired. No other information is available, since the Rockford police are encrypted.
