Officers responded to the 100 block of N. 6th St. in reference to an attempted armed robbery to a citizen. They located the victim standing on the sidewalk with a large cut on the left side of his head.
The victim stated he was walking down N 6th ST. when he was approached by the suspect who asked for some change. The victim refused to give the suspect any property at which point the suspect struck the victim in the head with a brick then fled westbound on E Jefferson St.
The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for his injuries. The suspect is described as a black male, in his 50s, 5’11” tall, 225 pounds, wearing a black jacket over a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
