On Tuesday, November 8, 2016, a two month investigation by the Belvidere/Boone County Metro Narcotics Unit and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Task Force, resulted in the arrest of a Rockford resident on felony drug charges.
Lawndale B. Pelts, age 28 of Rockford, was charged with two counts of Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance – (Heroin) Within 1,000 Feet of a Church – (Class 1 Felony).
On Tuesday, November 8, 2016, the Belvidere/Boone County Metro Narcotics Unit arrested Pelts on two counts of Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Heroin) Within 1,000 Feet of a Church. Pelts remains in the custody of the Boone County Jail on $250,000 bond.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible. Each Class 1 Felony is punishable by 4-15 years in the Department of Corrections.
