On 11/14/2016 at about 4:30pm officers were dispatched to an address in the 1400 block of Montague Street in reference to a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers located a 71 year old female suffering from a stab wound to her arm. Investigation revealed that the female victim was stabbed by her 34 four year old son, Christopher J. Buckley, during an argument. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries. As officers arrived on scene, they observed Buckley run back into the residence. He then attempted to jump out of a second story window. Officers surrounded the residence and members of the Rockford Police Crisis Negotiation Team and SWAT team were contacted to assist. Officers attempted to speak with Buckley for several hours to no avail.
The incident was simultaneously reviewed with the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office, who authorized charges of Home Invasion and Aggravated Domestic Battery against Buckley. A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest. After approximately seven hours of failed negotiations, SWAT officers entered the residence. Buckley was located hiding in a crawl space. He was taken into custody without further incident. He was lodged in the Winnebago County Jail in lieu of $300,000 bond.
The victim was treated and released from a local hospital.
This is an on-going investigation. No further information is available at this time.
No photo of Buckley is available at this time.
The charges against Buckley are merely accusations. He is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
