On Saturday November 5th., 2016, at 5:16 PM, the Rockford Police Department responded to Bloom School, 2900 Brendenwood Road, for a report of a subject breaking into the school. Upon arrival officers found a door to the school forced open. A perimeter was set up and as the officers went to enter the school to conduct a search the suspect surrendered. The male suspect was found to be a juvenile and was subsequently charged with Burglary, Criminal Trespass to State Supported Property and Criminal Damage to State Supported Property. After processing the suspect was released to a parent. The Rockford Police Department received assistance from the Loves Park Police Department and the Rockford Park District Police.
