On Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at approximately 2:00 a.m., Rockford Police officers were called to the 1400 block of 18th Street where a car was reported to have struck a house. Officers found that a house had been damaged. Investigation by officers led them to locate the suspect vehicle some distance away from the crash site. Further investigation led officers to identify and locate the driver, 43-year-old Rockford resident, Phoebe Hildreth.
No persons in the house were injured. A Rockford building inspector was summoned and found the structure safe for continued habitation.
Hildreth was subsequently charged with Aggravated Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Leaving the scene of a Persona Injury Accident, Driving While License Revoked, Operation of an Uninsured Vehicle, and Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident. Hildreth was lodged in the Winnebago County Jail.
No further information is available at this time.
All charges are merely allegations and parties are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.
