On Sunday, October 16, 2016 at approximately 10:40 p.m., Rockford Police Officers were sent to a residence in the 1300 block of Jackson Street in reference to a possible home invasion. While investigating the home invasion, officers found 41-year-old Rockford resident, Rochelle McCall, to be in possession of a small quantity of cannabis plants and a firearm. McCall was charged with the following offenses:

Possession of Sativa Plants
Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon
Violation of the Firearm Owners Identification Act (No FOID)

McCall was taken into custody and lodged in the Winnebago County Jail. No photo is available for McCall at this time.

Rockford Police Investigative Services Bureau Detectives are conducting follow up regarding the home invasion.

This is an ongoing investigation. No further information is available at this time. Additional information may be released as it becomes available.

All charges are merely allegations and parties are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in a court of law.

Around 10:41 pm tonight the RFD were dispatched to the 1300 block of Jackson st. Scanner traffic is saying a person was stabbed during a home invasion near this location. No suspect information, due to the Rockford police being encrypted. At least one person was stabbed. Unknown on the severity of the injuries at the time of writing this, still developing

UPDATE: The victim was stabbed in the chest area.  It was originally dispatched as a home invasion, but the police on scene said it is more domestic related than it is a home invasion.
