On October 3rd, 2016 at about 4:30 PM., the Rockford Police Department responded to several calls for shots fired near S. Winnebago St and Montague St. Responding officers located a witness who observed a blue Chevrolet 4 door occupied by two black male suspects south bound on S. Winnebago. Just before the intersection at Montague St the front passenger fires a handgun out the front passenger side window towards the west.

Officers did not locate any victims and did not find anything that was struck by gunfire. During the course of the investigation officers located a security video from a local business which showed the suspect had fired in the direction of a silver Chevrolet Cavalier. The Victim’s vehicle was last seen west bound and the suspect vehicle was last seen east bound.

At the time of this post there was no additional details.

Around 4:25 pm today the Rockford Fire Department were dispatched for a battery victim.  While en route they said there was shots fired in the area of Montague and West. The suspect vehicle is a blue vehicle.
