Update: Originally dispatched as a possible shooting victim call

On October 10th, 2016, at 7:34 PM., the Rockford Police Department responded to a strong arm robbery that took place in the intersection of Delaware and Concord Ave.  Upon arrival officers met with the victims who advised that he had been walking in the area when they were approached by 8 suspects described only as black males in their early to late teens.


The suspects took one of the victim’s shoes and watch.  The other victim was only battered however neither victim sustained any injury. After the incident the suspects started to walk west bound when one of them retrieved a handgun that was concealed in a bush and fired one round up into the air. All the suspects then ran from the area. Nothing was found to have been struck by gunfire.

Just after 7:30 PM, Rockford fire department were dispatched to 3617 Delaware at the Washington Park Community Center.  Scanner traffic is saying there is a possible shooting victim near this location.  Rockford fire department is staging.  Still developing.
