On Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 1259 hours, Rockford Police attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of Summit and E. State St which matched the description of a vehicle in a recent homicide investigation. As officers attempted to stop the vehicle it fled. The vehicle was eventually stopped at Auburn St and N. Main St and was determined not to be the vehicle in question. Further investigation revealed the driver was in possession of cannabis. The suspect, a 40 year old male, was later charged with the possession of the cannabis and fleeing to elude police

Just after 1 PM. Several fans have contacted us in reference to multiple police officers at the Wreck-It-Round-a-bout at Auburn and Main.  It is not yet known exactly what is going on because the Rockford Police Department are encrypted.  But a red vehicle is involved.  Several officers are on scene.  No other details are available

Rockford Scanner fan Brian Smith:  “Just drove by there no fire trucks no ambulance. Several unmarked cars going One Direction three or four other SUV types going the other direction do not believe this was an accident looks like a bust”
