On Wednesday, September 7, 2016, an investigation by the Belvidere/Boone County Metro Narcotics Unit and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Task Force resulted in the arrest of a Rockford resident on felony drug charges.

Jacob D. Roman, age 30 of Rockford, was charged with two counts of Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Heroin) within 1,000 feet of a senior citizen complex – (class 1 felony). Roman remains in the custody of the Boone County Jail on $150,000 bond.

On Wednesday, September 7, 2016, Roman was arrested in Belvidere, Illinois pursuant to an investigation by the Belvidere/Boone County Metro Narcotics Unit and the DEA Task Force. Roman was arrested on two counts of Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Heroin) within 1,000 feet of a senior citizen complex (class 1 felony).
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible. Each Class 1 Felony is punishable by 4-15 years in the Department of Corrections.
