On September 13, 2016 the Janesville Police Department and the Rock County Sheriff’s Office arrested Misty Kvistad for numerous burglaries that have occurred over the last several months. Kvistad’s method of operation was to knock on the door or ring the doorbell on resident’s homes. If no one answered she would pry the door open with a tool or break a window and enter. Kvistad would rummage around for cash or other valuables and leave. Kvistad was tied to these crimes by fingerprints and DNA. During this joint investigation Kvistad admitted to detectives that she committed multiple burglaries.

Kvistad said she was using the gains from these crimes to support her heroin addiction.
